Post-purchase surveys across multiple Shopify stores, without the spreadsheet

Guide · October 2026

If you run a US store and a UK store, you've probably asked buyers "How did you hear about us?" on both. Getting the answer for one store is easy. Getting both answers side by side, with what those orders were worth, is where the afternoon goes.

How it usually works today

Shopify apps are installed store by store, and post-purchase survey apps are no exception. Running one on three stores means three installs and a survey you copy from one store into the next. In their public help docs, two survey apps describe multi-store setups as switching between store accounts. One also suggests exporting a survey and importing it into the next store, where it starts hidden with a new ID.

That copy is where it starts to come apart. The surveys match on day one and then each store lives its own life. Someone fixes a typo in the UK version. Someone adds TikTok in the US. The answers pile up in separate dashboards that don't know about each other.

So when someone asks which store's search buyers spend the most per order, the answer involves two CSV exports, option names that almost match, a decision about currencies, and a hope that both surveys were still identical for the weeks you're looking at.

One survey, sent to every store

With Pollfold you write the survey once and send it to the stores you connect. Pollfold is still installed and billed per store; what changes is the survey. Each store can use its own language or its own wording, but underneath it's the same question with the same options, so a UK "Heard from a mate" and a US "A friend told me" count as one answer.

Each answer's share in every store on one 0–100% scale

Answers land on one page, store by store, next to how many orders gave each answer and what those orders were worth. Each store's totals stay in that store's currency, so a store selling in pounds is never added to one selling in dollars. When you edit the survey, you can roll the new version out to every store at once, and a store still running the old one is easy to spot.

The search question from earlier is then one page, not two exports lined up.

When it isn't worth it

If you run one store, Pollfold won't show you anything a single-store survey app can't, and some of those cost less. A comparison also needs answers behind it. A store with fewer than 30 answers is flagged as a small sample, because 7 out of 12 and 232 out of 400 both come out at 58% and only one of them means much.

How other apps handle multiple stores is described from their public help documents as of October 2026 and may have changed since.
